沈 超,男,1965年出生。1987年于浙江大学物理系获物理专业理学学士学位,1992年于北京师范大学物理系获理论天体物理专业理学硕士学位, 1997年于中国科学院空间科学与应用研究中心获空间物理专业理学博士学位。1997年至今于中科院空间中心从事空间物理方面研究工作,1997年11月特批为副研究员; 1999年10月任中科院空间中心空间天气开放研究实验室研究员,并进入中科院知识创新工程。先后获得1997年中科院院长奖学金优秀奖,1998年度赵九章优秀中青年科学工作奖,1998年度傅承义基金优秀青年奖, 2005年欧空局CLUSTER计划突出贡献奖。2002年度国家杰出青年基金获得者,国家重点基础研究发展规划(973)项目 “太阳剧烈活动与空间灾害天气”子课题负责人,国家重大工程项目双星地球空间探测计划科学运行中心负责人、中欧科学协调人,ESA CLUSTER 计划磁场测量仪Co-I,中国科学院博士生导师、特聘教授。

研究领域及学术成就:

主要开展了磁层亚暴和磁暴触发机制、亚暴和磁暴的物理关系、磁层亚暴和磁暴的理论预报模式、中性原子成像的理论与模拟研究、内磁层动力学、磁层磁场重联的理论和模拟研究、空间等离子体微观不稳定性与反常输运性质等方面的研究工作,取得了一些具有重要理论意义、应用价值并具有国际先进水平的研究成果,在国内外重要刊物上发表学术论文60余篇,其中SCI收录近40篇。

首次成功运用磁层全球等效电路方法对磁暴和亚暴活动进行定量预报。预报方法先进,是我国空间天气磁暴、亚暴定量预报领域的一个重要进展。

首次运用物理分析方法导出磁层亚暴活动指数与磁暴活动指数的解析关系式,揭示了磁层亚暴与磁暴之间存在的内在物理关系。研究结果引起国际同行的广泛关注和积极评价。

提出了磁力线曲率分析,磁压力梯度分析, 磁场矢量旋转分析,磁场最小变化分析等几种原创性的多点卫星磁场探测数据分析新方法,并已编制了完备的工具软件。对电流片、磁绳、磁层顶边界层等关键磁场结构的位形和动态变化的分析结果已发表在JGR 、GRL 等国际核心刊物上。通过对Cluster磁场观测数据的分析研究,发现磁尾电流片具有三种基本类型:标准电流片,扁型电流片,倾斜电流片;并指出三类电流片在磁尾动力学演化过程中的作用.

首次在国内进行地球近地空间等离子体环境可视化探测—中性原子成像的理论和模拟研究工作, 建立了暴时环电流离子分布理论模式,发现暴时中性原子成像的基本特征和规律。此项成果对双星计划中性原子成像仪的研制发挥了关键性的作用,为我国中性原子探测工作的开展提供了可靠的理论基础。

发展了可压缩涡旋诱发磁场重联理论,系统地研究了可压缩涡旋诱发重联的线性和非线性特性,解决了不可压缩理论模式与磁层观测结果的矛盾,证实涡旋诱发重联涡旋诱发重联是K-H不稳定性与电阻不稳定性的相互耦合过程,是磁层顶边界层磁场重联的重要形式。国际磁场重联领域的著名学者Sunnerrup教授指出这是一种新的磁场重联机制。

创建了中国双星地球空间探测计划科学运行中心。在2002—2003的两年期间,主持建立中国双星地球空间探测计划科学运行中心的硬件设施、网络系统及程序软件系统。经历两年多的在轨运行,显示科学运行软件系统易于操作,能适应于各种正常以及非正常变化的情况,硬件系统、网络系统非常可靠,出色地完成双星的科学运行任务, 获取了磁层亚暴、磁暴等动力学过程的大量探测数据(约200GB),并取得了一些重要数据分析研究成果。
